2013 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 51,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 19 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

I arrived in Bien Hoa in July 1967. After about 5 months in the field I needed a break so I applied to go to Sydney Australia for R & R. I flew out of Saigon/TonSon Nhut and landed in Darwin. Then off to Sydney where we were ordered to stay on the plane until it was inspected for fruit, drugs, etc. After that our group went to a place where we were briefed on where to go. They pretty much wanted all Americans to stay in Kings Cross. Wow, after I got to my room I changed in to civvies that my parents had sent me. The night life was sizzling and the people were magnificent. The week went really fast and I was back to Viet Nam. I wanted to get a job in Sydney after I got out of the Army but I never did. I still have fond memories of Sydney Australia.
